Chicago Elite League Week IV Schedule and Updated Standings
March 01, 2008 - Chicago, IL

Here are the updated standings at the mid-way point and the schedule for Week IV. We're expecting another night of exciting games with several teams duking it out for positioning in the standings.

After a thrilling Week III, we're hoping to see some real showdowns from here on out as we have only two weeks before the finals. Though every team is it it til the end, having one less game to play on the final night will go a long way. With four teams within 2 points of each other, things are bound to be exciting! Here's a game-by-game view of how things are shaping up going into Week IV:

Game #1 Drogba currently is ahead of Ronaldo in the standings but not by much. Only two separate the two teams and Ronaldo has the advantage in goal differential. If Drogba slips up they'll find themselves behind the all blacks.

Game #2 Dempsey and Ribery match up in the second game of the night and this one could provide a good show. Ribery is currently fifth but can move ahead of second place Dempsey with a win. However, the way Team Ribery has been playing lately, I'm not so sure the men in Orange have got much to worry about.

Game #3 The poles play in this one and I recommend Robinho's GK Giovanni Esparza pack a picnic basket for this one as lead leaders take on league bottom-feeders Team Zlatan. Most are expecting to see an abundance of goals being scored much like in the Teams' first meeting (7-2). Or maybe there was something to Jesus Arciga's inspirational effort in Week III? I'm all about the upsets!

Game #4 Will Team Ribery redeem themselves after taking part in the first ever Elite League tie? They have been dormant as of late but look to see a cage-match between these two talented teams.

Game #5 I'm going to say that this will be the match of the night. Maybe it's because both teams are named after Brazilians or maybe it's because I think that Team Ronaldo is a sleeping giant that's been stepped on one too many times over the past few weeks. If Victor Lozano is his consistent self in the net, I think there's a chance that Cody Wilkins and company could provide us with another Elite League first - a Robinho loss!

Game #6 Though Game #5 will likely be the match of the night, I'm thinking this one will be a close second. Why? Because Team Dempsey will be in cruise control after another victory over Team Ribery and Team Zlatan is going to be fired up after getting smacked around by Robinho. If Zlatan has a bench, look for them to come out with at least a point in this one.
